By day Lee Grinspan is a sales executive with a Fortune 500 managed care company. By night, he is a guitarist, with roots in Rock & Roll. For the past five years, however, he has focused much of his music tastes and attention on jazz. He feels that within this genre, he is drawn to more classic material and he deeply appreciates fresh interpretations of the old standards made famous by the masters.
After a few years on the sidelines, in 2002, Grinspan became interested in regaining satisfaction of playing in an ensemble. This time he decided to go with a smooth jazz focus and considered himself fortunate to find Jazmine.
Lee loves jazz guitar, both listening and playing. He started playing in the 60's but didn't get serious until the 90's. Presently listening to some of the genre’s guiding forces including Barney Kessel, George Van Eps, Jimmy Raney and Herb Ellis.
"I play a Gibson Golden Eagle from the Heritage collection and it suits me just fine. For me, it's not the destination but the journey, and I continue to get tremendous pleasure from studying, listening and playing."
